Filled with enthusiasm and optimism, Kirschen moved from New York City to Jerusalem where he changed his name from Jerry to Yaakov and began drawing a cartoonist’s view of his new reality. He called his cartoon Dry Bones. But between the prophesied return of the Jews to Zion and their promised happy end was a tale of struggle and isolation. Ezekiel foretold that the return would bring the world against the returnees. Ezekiel was right. Their precious Jerusalem would become a stone in the throats of the nations and the world would denounce, libel and vilify the Jewish State. This book is a collection of the Dry Bones cartoons that Kirschen drew to fight back. The cartoons in this book are meaningful today, but in each, alongside Kirschen's signature, is the year in which it was drawn. None are Politically Correct. Most are angry.
